Sometimes I’ll watch other cam models perform.

From the comfort of my leather chair I carefully observe and analyze their game. Critiquing others while they ply their trade is a fun way to pick up new skills and tricks which I then make later use of myself, or even tweak just a bit to better suit my own unique style.

Today I thought I’d put something out there which many models may not realize they’re doing wrong. And it’s negatively impacting your earnings. Care to guess what it is? If you guessed that it’s your typing then you’re right. It’s sloppy, and it needs work. Keep reading to discover why.

The human race has evolved through natural selection…

What this means is that over time certain traits were selected over others, and passed down to future generations through our ancestors’ genes. One of the biggest traits that has stood the test of time is that of intelligence. Intelligence is an attraction factor for both males and females. In fact, those believed to be of higher intelligence are seen as more elite, more difficult to attain as mates in other words (mates in the sense of mating, not mates in the sense of friends).

What does all this mean for you?

If someone comes into a chat room and sees a pretty girl, and she is hunting and pecking away on the keyboard, trying her darnedest but really only getting out 20 wpm at the most, on some level that is going to be an attraction killer. The viewer will watch and mentally rate her, and on an immediate physical level there may be an attraction. However, whether he realizes it or not he’ll be thinking to himself something along the lines of “She’d be a hot one-time lay.” Once the passion juice has been spent there’s really nothing to lure him back and become a regular of hers.

This happens in real-life relationships as well.

If you’ve experienced the hot build-up of attraction of meeting a new beau, but then as soon as you’ve had sex he never calls again (and who hasn’t experienced this..) then you can relate here. For attraction to last there has to be some mental stimulus as well as the obvious physical. How mentally stimulating do you really think it is watching you hunt and peck on your keyboard?

Of course there are exceptions here…

Those times during your shows when one hand is “otherwise occupied” don’t count. And of course you can always use a mic and just talk to your clients. This article is referring to the times when you’re sitting up at the keyboard, both hands ‘present and accounted for’, and are stuttering and fumbling your text communication.

So what is a girl to do?

That’s easy – learn to type. How? -you may ask. Well, you’ve already got a pc or laptop (obviously). All you need to do is purchase a good typing program. But you need to be careful which one you get, they’re not all made alike and some are really horrible and will just end up wasting your time and de-motivate you from learning to type. You should do your research and due diligence to get the one that you think is the best.

That program is cheap and good.

I’ve used it myself and I am up to around the 90 wpm level last time I timed myself. Learning to type is a little work at first but then it’s fun. That program has little games and tests that make learning to type a fun and enjoyable experience.

Once you can type both faster and more accurately, then all the witty charm that’s inside has an avenue to freely flow from you. You won’t be bottlenecked with your communication and your clients won’t be bored and frustrated waiting for you to just hurry up and type already!

In today’s age of ‘connected technology’, we’re almost expected to be able to type well. In fact, if you can’t type well today you’re almost considered somewhat illiterate, especially by employers.

This is a ‘foundation’ skill that will carry over into anything else you do in life.

Be it going to school, to corresponding with other professionals in other jobs, to something as simple as writing and keeping in touch with friends and family. This is one skill I highly recommend you invest the time and money to better yourself with.
