As we prepare to enter the second quarter of 2010 we see that the economy still hasn’t recovered from its more than year-long tank. As the unemployment plague continues to be more widespread, corporate human resources departments nervously batten down the hatches to discourage any unemployed zombies from finding their way into the mother ship.

The laid-off zombies are finding themselves in the uncomfortable conundrum of not only being without jobs – many for the first time ever – but unable to replace their former jobs with new ones. Many able-bodied folk have now been on unemployment support for quite a few months and are beginning to wonder what they’ll do once it runs out since employers, afraid for their lives, are still not opening the doors.
